I'm a recent college grad. I'm twenty something years old. I'm Bangladeshi. I'm American. And I now live in Palestine.
My current role as an educator for elementary school children in the war torn conflicted West Bank is by far the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. To do this job I have to have a tough exterior, kinda like this :
I've probably been able to put on these layers of metal armor and have been braced for this role by all of my previous personal experiences combined, prior to making the leap for starting a life for myself in Palestine. It is a role that puts me in the central merging point of seeing the value of education, the integral value of human rights, the complexities of politics, and the power of creativity and innovation. It is also a role that exposes me to the beauty and love that stems from Palestine, a side of Palestine that is more often than not clouded and smudged with an overshadowing image of just war and violence. Tis not true folks. There are so many awesome heart filling, captivating and endearing things here, that I guarantee you (100% guarantee or your sanity back, olive trees not included) that if you came to visit me for a week and saw it for yourself, you might fall in love with Palestine as much as I have :)
I follow my passions. The power of connecting with people and giving voice to stories stemming from underprivileged circumstances to me serves a higher purpose of putting human rights and human values on the forefront to help us as humankind move forward.
I like to write. I hope you enjoy the blog. And if you really do enjoy it, I would love to hear what you think. Give me ideas people! I wanna hear your ideas!
Lots of love from Palestine
